Hi all. I have two stents already and know I have stenosis so is it worth having a Lipoprotein a test? Thanks 😀

I had one and it’s moderately high, it just worry’s me now so I’m not sure if I’d rather not know. . If you get what I mean.

Yes that’s a tricky one but can lifestyle impact it? Does aspirin help?

I’ve tried to read all I can about it and there doesn’t seem to be any way of lowering it. They are working on a drug apparently so all we are told to do is limit all other risks.

There is a fb page of Lp(a) that I keep an eye on just incase anyone finds something that works. I had a heart calcium score after and at least that was 0 so my plaque isn’t hard old calcified plaque.

Thanks. I’ve not had a calcium test. I’ll try to get one 😀 did you do it privately?

Yes I had the heart score at a private hospital, might of been a spire. The Lp(a) was from bluecrest screening

On the cholesterol forum an ambassador on that forum talked about an LDL-C and LDL-P ( I think) test too which you also have to do privately. I’m going to look into them also as I’ve never heard of them!

I’m not sure I wanted to know now that I do know. Of course if mine was low I’d be happy to know 😅

I take around 6-8 grams of C day amongst other things. Like you my personal choice. ( I don’t recommend this to anyone without talking to their GP). Hopefully it might help the Lp(a). I’ve no idea though.
