Ticagrelor duration question.

I had 2 stents inserted in July for a 90% LAD and 80% LCX blockage. Angio was preformed after a positive cardiac stress test, EKG ischemic changes, no chest pain. I am to stop the Ticagrelor after 6 months. I notice that most on this board have been advised to continue for a year. Just wondering if there is a protocol or if it is the individual cardiologists call. I did get to read my Angio report and it said the plaque was moderate risk. I do not have high blood pressure and my pulse rate is 50-60. I am to continue Asprin 75mg and Bisoprolol 2.5mg.

I was told a year, but they didn't specify Ticagrelor, am seeing a cardiologist tomorrow so will ask him. I am 5 months in.

I believe the shorter time span is because you did not suffer a heart attack prior to the stents being inserted. You could always ask your cardiolgist to confirm this.

hi after my heart attack i was prescribed it for 6 months. after restenosis a year later was prescribed for a year. after next stent 5 weeks later it was reduced again to 6 months. try figure that out. i reckon it depends on doctor to be honest. i had the same doctor who prescribed 6 months both those times. 12 month prescription was a different doctor❤️
