Follow up appts : Hi everyone I had a... - British Heart Fou...
Follow up appts
Yes, eventually they should get in touch -they obviously still have you on the radar as the person you spoke to mentioned 15th August. After my heart attack and stent plus discovery of a valve problem I was due to have an annual scan last January - still waiting.....
As so many people here have found too many people and not enough appointments and resources. Emergency treat is fantastic and then you really are left until they can fit you in. It will happen but it all takes a lot of waiting. In the meantime your GP is the person who can offer reassurance - after you;ve waited to get an appointment with him or her..... It will be fine but you have to accept you will wait for everything. Take care.
Hi thank u yes it is all a shortage of medical staff I m sure but I just find it so frustrating tbh !! I get a bit down thinking bout things good n bad days really but on the up side my partners bkd us two wks abroad in sept so I have that to look forward too 😆
I too was in Blackpool Vic. Hosp. 6 weeks ago(61days) on the verge of a HA. They flew at me with all these tests/tablets etc...I have LBBB and a hole found on an echo, they eventually let me out to return for a Cardiac CT scan. This was done 2 &1/2 weeks ago. I am waiting on my results apparently, if urgent the scanner will put a red flag on pictures and will be in touch very quickly.🤔🤨 If not then I will have to wait like everyone else which like to say is totally frustrating as my life is in limbo. The GP can't answer as i am under the care of Blackpool(Who have voicemails only)
Bearing in mind I was blue lighted from Home- RPH- then blue lighted from RPH- BVH. It was quite a traumatic event with my son/mum who I left behind at RPH.
It is well known for its voice mails. You have to find a way in to one of the consultants secretaries to get an answer and even then you get a story of lies. Lol. My most recent appt is a follow up 6 monthly at Chorley in November with another cardiologist.🙄
Hang on- 🤚Can I at least have my results first/then my 2/3 month review with a cardiologist at Blackpool as stated on my discharge form before a 6 month review.
Oh I can feel my BP rising writing this. Ha ha. 😁
Take care enjoy your hols. X😎
I m sure we will thank u but ye it s just frustrating wen u ve gone through all this then nothing !! I know it s all down to not having enough resources in the nhs but does nt help u feeling like u ve been forgotten about m Wots gonna happen next does it ? I was petrified wen this happened and on my own so was pretty scary but I ve got a fab partner and family which makes me a very lucky lady I d say 😆 I hope all goes well for u x
Hi I was the same as you had my HA last August and 1 stent.
Was told I would hear from cardiac team after I left hospital I never did.
I called my drs they said call the ward which I did and there was no mention of a referral.
I then searched for the cardiac teams number and called them by this time I was in a right state.
They were so nice and I got an appointment with the cardiac nurse who answered all my questions and referred me for cardiac rehab.
The rehab was hard work but worth it and it was good to talk to others who had suffered HA’s.
Keep pushing and you will get seen.
