Support Group- people living with ICD’s

Anyone living with an ICD there will be a support group starting in August or the beginning of September in Kirkcaldy Fife.

I will know next week on the exact date & Venue.. if anyone is interested mail me please...

Brilliant idea, we used to attend the Papworth ICD support group, really wish they'd restart it but hasn't been any mention so far!

I think support groups are very helpful & supportive....I’ve had my ICD for nearly 18 years and I had no one to turn to back then...

Definitely a good idea to actually have face to face meet ups at a venue. Forums have their place of course but it is too easy to misinterprete what or how people are putting things across. We became very good friends with a couple we met at the Papworth group & were able to support each other through some very difficult times. My husband had his ICD fitted in 2012 but had had a heart condition since 1997, there was no support back then & that was a scary lonely place. I wish yo good luck with your group, I hope it does well x

Are you a member of the Facebook group ICD-crtd support uk? There may be members on there who live in the area you're covering & may be interested in joining your group.

That’s great I will keep you posted on the correct date I think it might be a Tuesday and the time might be about 4pm I’ve had my ICD for nearly 18 yrs so it would be great to meet yourself and others...
