Hello to you all.

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetic during October 2004. Severe Heart Attack in December 2005. Investigations determined Left Ventricle damaged beyond repair and surrounding muscle tissue dead... By-Pass not considered feasible as nowhere to bypass to. Cardiologists at Bath Hospital carried out internal search and determined my heart as being only 41% efficient with almost half the muscle tissue dead!

I won't bore you with the last 13 years of pain and suffering, but I am looking for some answers to questions if you would be so kind?

Can one be suffering attacks of Angina if blood pressure is normal? I take a lot of pills to ensure this is maintained, but I am having some serious chest pains.

To wait for the waiting list to call up my number for NHS investigation is unfortunately too long to accept. I may not have the time left!

Also, my fibromyalgia has become literally unbearable and no pain killers provide relief. Does anyone know of an alternative solution?

Thank you for your interest.

I'm not a doctor so take this with a pinch of salt, but I'd suggest yes, you can have angina with blood pressure below the 120/80 "safe" limit. High blood pressure is widely but not universally found alongside angina.

I sympathise with anyone's frustration over NHS wait times, sometimes it can feel interminable, but I'd still say you should contact your GP and attempt to move this forward via normal channels. After all, the sooner you've got your name down the sooner you'll be at the top of the list.

Hello and welcome to the forum! I have been Type I diabetic for over half-a-century (a member of the Order of the Golden Syringe) and had a quadruple bypass last year. Despite blood pressure in the normal range, I started on BP medication some years earlier as the guidelines for diabetics are lower, I developed angina in early 2017 - so yes you can have angina with a healthy blood pressure. If your chest pains are continuous then ring 999 as it may be something more than angina!

What pain killers have you tried?
