Acupuncture and Massage

I was in a car accident a couple of weeks ago on the way to Cardiac Rehabilitation. It’s been decided by the doctors that I need massage and acupuncture. I’m quite looking forward to the painkilling benefits but I’m nervous about my heart. Doctor says it’s ok but I haven’t checked with cardiologist. Anyone got any input please? First of eight sessions starts tomorrow.

Hi Maisie2014,

I see an osteopath and acupuncturist.

I explained my heart condition to her and gave her my long list of medications including clopidogrel and she was happy to treat me. I told my Cardiologist and he approved my treatment.

I found it really helpful to release the painful tension in the muscles in my upper back as my chest pain has meant my posture is not good. The acupuncture needles used are so fine you don't feel anything.

I hope you get some relief to your pain.

I have massage regularly and find it helps all my symptoms. I have severe heart failure, sjogrens and bowel and bladder problems. Also it is enjoable and that is very important.

Thanks everyone. I had the first session of massage this morning. Very painful indeed but nothing affecting the heart. I’m sure I’m going to be a lot better for these sessions. Looking forward to the acupuncture as I’ve had it before some years ago and it’s great for pain relief.
