Hi, I have just been diagnosed with severe heart failure. What a shock! Now doctors want me to take a nuclear stress test. Having read about this test, I am not happy to have it. As anyone here had it? Is it essential? Thanks, katkootia.

Heart failure
Yes had it and also the Stress MRI which I think gives a better picture, maybe a question for your GP why One over the Other ?? I think the answer may be a little complex for a non medical person to answer.
Give the helpline a call maybe they can give you information !
regards
Yes I had that and there’s nothing to it. Maybe a bit of discomfort but soon over. The thing is the Cardio team need as much information about how your heart is working to inform them in the decision as to what is the best treatment going forward. This will probably not be the last test. My advice would be to not overthink it but get on with it. Do however take a great interest in the results. Get copies of the results and try to understand them so that you are informed when decisions are discussed. Many thousands of us have been through this and we’re the better for it.
