Post op follow up
I gather you must be OK now, why not tell us what happened?
I went for my post OHS follow up at eight weeks expecting to see my surgeon. He was on holiday!
If everything's gone to plan you normally see one of the surgeon's registrars for the follow up visit. As I understand it's basically a technical meeting where you're asked a few questions and then formally signed off from the hospital's care and returned to your GP.
But I'm sure the registrar would appreciate a hug, and they could always pass it on!
You'll be lucky if it's the surgeon , I had ECG chest x-ray and 5 minutes with the registrar on my follow up .
As Deanosbeano had ECG and chest X-ray, and after shortish hat with registrar discharged back to local cardiac unit and GP. Had 6 month follow up at local hospital - no tests, doing well and back in a year.
Peter saw his consultant who did his emergency procedure. It was lovely to be able to chat things through with him, didn’t rush us, showed us his blockage and stents. he was happy to get a huge hug from me (and a bottle of whisky). Discharged us but said we could ring secretary if we were concerned
