Stent
As said in a previous post I know someone who had reached 20 years post stenting without further intervention. I do not believe the specific artery comes into but it is a question of making the lifestyle changes including taking your medication, and (what always applies) a modicum of luck. And please stop worrying over it!
Hi I have two stents and been in 18 months and no problems at all and said to say my diet has been terribly so you have no worries I think they check after 5 years
You may as well as "how long is a piece of string?". Stents can effectively last forever, it's other factors that determine the outcome. We all just need to follow the diet, exercise and medication rules and do the best we can to take care of it. I have 3 in my RCA after HA and do everything I have been advised to do and have had no issues in the 18 months since apart from a few side effects from meds... I can only hope it remains that way. Good luck
My husband’s stent was still working fine after 11 years- some of his other arteries had become blocked in that time, and he needed a quadruple bypass last year. He also has T2 diabetes and didn’t do much to alter his diet (apart from not taking sugar in tea and on cereal!).
Good luck
Thanks for the comment
Hi, my first stent was 21 years ago second stent 11 years ago, both now 50% -70% blocked medication keeping me going at the mo. But if I miss it which I have done a couple of times do I know about it
Hi
If I have this correct I had drug eluding stents can't remember if that's exactly right, but it was words to that effect !! I think they have less chance of causing a clot rather than not blocking.
