Hi

I have an ILR fitted but no diagnosis. I rang stay sure but as I don’t have a diagnosis they can’t insure me unless they exclude all cardiac issues. Any advice?is there a company that will insure me without a diagnosis?

Thanks

Since my Husband's recent heart attack I have been looking into both travel and life insurance, from what I understand it's the fact that you don't have a diagnosis that will prevent you getting insurance, ultimately how could a Dr say you are safe to travel not without knowing what is wrong with you? I guess it's too much of a risk for an insurance company, but it's early days for us in dealing with these issues so some one else may be able to offer more positive news.

Strangely if I put I have been experiencing syncope I can get a quote but if I mention the ILR I can’t? The ILR is there to monitor the syncope? All very confusing!!

Isn’t syncope your diagnosis and the ILR the ongoing ‘treatment’? Or is syncope the effect and not the cause. ? Your best bet is to see your GP and get them to help you with the medical questions. You could also try a different insurer but I rather suspect that since they do not employ medical professionals on the sales desk, you’ll just hit the same issue again!

Give insure and escape a try I informed them I was undergoing tests, was on a waiting list to have a CRT-D implant ,had heart failure and other problems. They insured me and my partner for 20 days including winter sports for under a 140 pounds

Hi,

I had one in a few years ago and I couldn’t get travel insurance tried lots of specialist ones. Maybe it’s changed but at the time I couldn’t as classed as under investigation. Whilst it was in I went on holiday to France by car with my EHIC card and crossed my fingers. I have lived before in France and know how good their health care is as I had one son there and one here. I can say from my experience France was superior and it was a state run hospital.

Good luck

Nicky

Insure and escape. Fantastic! Spoke on the phone, got additional things (ILR) added to the policy. Good price.
