Referred for a echocardiogram , where I was asked if my resting heart rate is always low, I said it’s only since having Fitbit that I know my average is 54., due to feeling light headed 24/7. My pulse is excellent, returned to doctors for results. To be told the results say I need to see a cardiologist. Now I’m worried. Only sent to rule it out. Anyone any ideas

Hello and welcome to the forum! One can only surmise at this point. You need to ask your doctor "why". A potential cause of your dizziness could be a leaky valve but you really need the "why". Do not use Doc Google as it is full of out-of-date information and total rubbish. So pencil in to ring the GP on Tuesday - the BHF nurses may also be able to advise then. Good luck!

Do run it by the BHF nurses on Tuesday - they are better qualified than yours truly!

If they had found something serious you would not have been allowed home!

My resting heart heart rate is also very low. Was in hospital recently for an Angiogram (I have exertional Stable Angina with a 65%narrowing of the Lad, no stent needed. My heart rate was only mid 40s, ha e checked it since being home never more than 55. I am a 70 year old woman. Feel very fortunate reading these posts I certainly do not suffer with severe pain just very uncomfortable. I don't find the Gn spray helps me, sometimes I wonder if I really do have a Gina. Change of meds a d the increase in Ranexa seems to help along with other meds. TRICIA

When I go to the doctors, and they check my blood pressure he says it’s excellent, when he checks when I stand up it plummets , is yours the same? Are you light headed almost 24/7 and headaches to match?

Please don’t worry yet, a qualified opinion is what you need, and what you are going to get. Some people, including athletes have v slow HR! People here are not qualified to suggest what you might have. BHF nurses are brilliant.

Sorry! I know it’s v hard not to worry, of course you do. Perhaps jot down the questions you think about when you’re worrying...... then they are ready for when you see your GP on Thursday. I hope they are one of the good ones who try and give you honest answers.

Before you talk to the doctor write down the questions and write down the answers because if you’re anxious you’ll forget them. You could also get someone to sit in with you putting the call on conference. Finally low blood pressure is a damn sight better than high blood pressure.
