This is a reply to Chappy chap on the thread “Very high blood pressure”.
I have been having technical problems with Health Unlocked that they don’t seem to be able to resolve, so this will probably be my last post.
I have never had any stents and I have always exercised well. My blood pressure only went down when I went on this diet, which is low-salt but I used very little salt in my diet beforehand. I know you like the Mediterranean diet which I believe can prevent heart disease but I have never seen anything that says it can reverse heart disease, which is what most people on here need. Here is why I "keep peddling" it:

"The message could not be more simple: animal-based foods (meat, poultry, eggs and dairy) lead to high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, obesity and other risk factors linked to CVD. A well-balanced vegan diet containing plenty of fruit and vegetables, wholegrains, pulses, nuts and seeds lowers the risk of CVD. As stated above, this applies to people wishing to avoid CVD and people who already have CVD. As the research shows, you can reverse heart disease by making lifestyle and dietary changes alone. It’s never too late!"

"The review found that a plant-based diet:
Reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular disease by 40 percent.
Reduces the risk of coronary heart disease by 40 percent.
Fully or partially opens blocked arteries in up to 91 percent of patients.
Reduces the risk of hypertension by 34 percent.
Is associated with 29 mg/dL and 23 mg/dL lower total cholesterol and LDL-C levels, respectively, compared with non-vegetarian diets.
Is associated with weight loss."
