Hello bowler sorry to hear you are having anyone pain. I see from your previous posts that you have a mitral valve issue and also anaemia. Both of these conditions can cause chest pain and breathlessness. Have you thought of asking your GP to request an earlier appointment with the Cardiologist in view of the sudden return of chest pain. You could also call the Cardiologists Secretary explain you are experiencing angina and ask if you can be seen earlier than June. Take care
the angina only started again yesterday, so haven't called my surgery, I had a follow up heart scan last month, [ first since I had the stents ] and haven't had any comeback on that, although I felt fine then, yes I still have the mitral valve leak so maybe it's that? but my anaemia didn't show up again on my blood test last week !! I think I will call the Cardio Sec. as you suggested, Unfortunately I don't have any faith in the Dr's at our small village surgery, it's run by locums, we cant see to attract a full time Dr.
I also have stage 3b kidney disease and have been referred to Nephrologist so a lot for me to think about, however I was more concerned with my heart problems, hence my post
I had similar symptoms to you 6 months after having my 1 stent fitted, increasing breathless and developed Angina. It gradually got worse. Finally I had another Angiogram, original stent was 98% blocked. It's called Restenosis and usually occurs 6-8 months after stenting.
It's caused by inflammation and your bodies response to this and not what caused the original blockage. Mine has now been cleared and feeling much better. Don't know if this applies to you but because of the timing of your symptoms might be worth considering. Hope you get something sorted.
Hello, thanks for your reply, When you say "Yours has been cleared" did you have to have the stents redone ?
Strange that you mention inflammation I also have "Polymyalgia Rheumatica" it's very painful and I have to take steroids for the inflammation and recently had a flare , I'm wondering if that maybe a connection, very interesting.
They widened the original stent and put in a drug coated balloon to coat original stent with drugs to try to prevent it happening again. I am also on increased stations ( although chloresterol is fine) as they are supposed to prevent inflammation. I have an article about it. I will send it when I can find it.
Thank you very much for your reply, and link A lot to read and take in, but will go through it again, it's very informative. I think I need to contact someone before my problem gets worse.
I am only on 40gms of statins per day {Atorvastatin ] maybe I need a higher dose.
