Question on stents I forgot to ask this question to the cardiologist.
I had a couple of stents into an already bypassed LAD now after a Stress MRI his thoughts are the stents are to small !! So an Angiogram is planned ( 8 to 12 weeks wait ) to look at putting in a couple of larger stents to increase the blood flow to an area of my heart that is getting blood but maybe not quite enough !
My question is do they leave the original two stents in place or are they removable, and then larger ones placed in the artery ?? appreciate any answers on this.
Thanks

Does stress MRI give ischemia %. Usually angiogram needed when > 10%. For my brother in law it was not replaced but additional stent added
Good old Google....
"When a stent is implanted in an artery, the cells of the artery wall eventually grow over the stent. The stent becomes permanently embedded in the artery wall. Because of this, a stent cannot be removed once it has been placed in an artery. Doing so would damage the artery wall."
In 2015 bypass surgery, stents in 2018 reason for the stents was he said they had missed an area that would benefit from an increased blood flow. I just posted an update under Cardiologist Appointment HF which gives a little more information.
Thank you for your reply...I had a bypass Christmas eve 2019..all was fine initially but I've noticed a steady decline in my fitness and now having angina attacks again...☹
