Hi , I am taking my tablets except the Statin ( as it gave me the runs) , this afternoon I have a pain in my the middle of my chest,and a bit breathless..is it the tablets ?

It's probably too late in the day to ring your GP so ring 111 and let them decide if you need to go to A&E. It could be angina for instance.

If your statin is giving problems rather than just stop taking it you should discuss it with your GP. There are both alternative statins and alternative drugs to lower cholesterol. You were prescribed them for a reason!

Ah ok,will take it tonight.... I have got Angina,but do you know what I can do just to ease it , Asprin? Or I have a spray

If you have a GTN spray use it. I doubt the statin will be causing chest pain.

Hello Tippy - it takes a while for your body to get used to tablets especially if you have just started taking them but always check with your Dr before just stopping a tablet. Not taking the statin for one night won't have done you any harm but don't miss the other tablets. If the statin is causing diarrhoea your Dr could either reduce the dose (that worked for me when I had the same problem) or change to a different statin. Use your GTN spray for pain but if that doesn't ease pain you need to call 111 or 999 for advice
