Hi Tippytwo, welcome to this forum. Everyone is helpful on here. Please don't stop taking the tablets, if you continue to suffer phone 111 for some advice, don't sit on it. When I had my diagnosis just over a year ago I was scared, like you I have no blockages. I have been diagnosed with spasms, I'm taking Aspirin, Angitil SR, isosorbide, nicorandil, ezetimibe, I can't have beta blockers because my pulse rate is slow. It takes time when your newly diagnosed, I'm also getting more breathless so I'm having tests for that too. Your not alone, there's always someone here that can help.
Would you mind me asking what your heart rate is? My husband has just started taking a low dosage of bisoprolol & now his HR is fluctuating between low 50's to 60's although it did dip to 40's for a short while!!
Hi, sorry for the late reply, I've always had a low heart rate, it was just over 50 for the last 10 to 20 years and now it can go to 44, but resting it's between 48 to 52 . Hope this helps.
Hello and welcome to the forum! I would strongly advise you not to stop taking the tablets without medical advice as they would have been prescribed to protect you. Perhaps you could list them. You also need to speak to your GP to clarify your diagnosis as it is unclear to me. It seems as if a coronary artery may be 72% blocked but which one is unclear - could they have said Sinoatrial?
Please don't stop your tablets without talking to your GP. You can get seen as an emergency if the side effects are so bad. Your GP will probably know what's causing it. I was put on masses of tablets after my heart attack and gradually most of them had to be changed. It took time but I now have no side effects.
Ah ok no my arteries aren’t blocked , but blood test showed (I can’t remember the name of it it sounded like Trob something ) ...it was high ,but it’s back to normal, Clopidogrel75g I have to take them for a mth,
Was the name of what was high troponin? That is a common blood test for diagnosing heart issues. If it's that, someone on here might know if that is high. It's not something I know. I hope you're feeling better today!
Yes that’s it, Troponin.... yes I felt better about 6.00 last night after the tablets had worn off? Felt hungry I have taken the tablets again , but not the Statins ... I took them at 9.00 starting to feel a bit ugh , but not rushing to the loo ,I really don’t want to feel like this I am 70 and the only tablets I take are for thyroid...now this and I felt rubbish when I went to my exercise class 😏😏
Glad you are feeling a bit better but sounds like good advice to speak to a medic about it all. I found, especially when I first started on the medication, that I felt better in the afternoons but now I'm used to it I'm OK in the morning too!
I would call your gp and ask for an emergency appointment. They are generally good if you say you are 70 and have had heart trouble and are struggling with the meds . They may be able to adjust them for you so you get used to them . Also diaorriah will dehydrate you so you need some support . Do you have a cardiac nurse to ring . They are generally on the ball . ISounds like you have had a tough time . You need support to stabilise now . x
Thank you everyone, think I will ask my doctor,as you say it takes a bit to get used to them etc, 😊👍
The only tablet I was told by my cardiac nurse to stop taking if I had diarrhoea was Ramipril and only to start taking again once normal service resumed. Worth a call in the morning to docs or cardiac nurse . In the meantime keep your fluids up .
