What are your experiences are of having an ECG done at your GP Practice?

I have normally had ECG's as part of my tetralogy follow up in another city- which I decided i did not rally want any more. However, currently at Uni and have a non -heart related problem with exercise. GP referred the issue to a specialist through the Manchester gateway and got advice on something to try. Before doing so, GP needed to see my ECG which is abnormal and despite having 22 years of Cardiology reports had never been sent an ECG or more than half a sentence about my ECG in the clinic letters. So ordered one.

Just wondering what others experience was of having ECG's at a GP practice, particularly if their ECG is abnormal.

Not a problem and handy for me BUT if requested by g.p. it doesn't go to hospital and if requested by hospital the g.p. doesn't see it unless asked to. So need to follow it up at times. I

I ask for a copy of my ECGs so I can show my GP or Cardiologist as necessary.

You could also take a picture with your smart phone and keep a record that way too .

Now why didn't I think of that? Probably because I'm old and just finding my way with all this technology. Thanks

I also have my Admission Plan on my phone, carry a paper copy plus it's on my hospital's electronic patient record system.

Which is extreme belt and braces!

Hi , my first post here, have an abnormal ECG due to HCM. After about 2 years of cardiology reports my GP practice decided they needed a copy of my ECG for themselves. There were no issues getting it done but, took all morning to sort out as they were certain I was having a MI. Had to refer two GPs in the practice back to the first cardiology report to convince them this was normal for me. However good did come out of it as they advised to keep a cop with me at all times, which I do on my phone, and this has saved me considerable further problems on two occasions since.
