I’m feeling quite isolated and would like to chat to fellow AF bods. I’m scared and would like to chat re: life with the condition, treatments, tips etc.

I can thoroughly recommend the AF group. They always help and there is some excellent advice and support.
I'm quite new to healthunlocked. I was diagnosed back in June but soldiered on. Though family and friends were loving and supportive I got to the stage where I wanted to scream because I needed someone who really understood. Also I felt I couldn't cry in front of them as they all feel I'm so emotionally strong. I started with comments that just touched the surface of how worried and distressed I feel but as weeks have gone by and no one is judging or over analysing what I'm saying it's become so therapeutic to get things off my chest and get some practical as well caring advice. I'm sure you will benefit too.
I was sick with worry when first diagnosed with AF last year. I had a permanent headache too..... gradually I learnt to live with it and stop worrying about it 24/7.
I had a cardioversion last week and am back in the worrying stage again!!! This group is really nice and responsive.... we’re in it together here and I feel that helps. Plus a ton of knowledge and experience.
I’m hoping my worry will fade again. I hope you start feeling better soon. Talking here does help 👍
There is a ton of educational info re a fib treatments, self care etc. The biggest issue I had 3 yr ago when adjusting to this unwelcome visitor was the unknown. It strikes when it wants to, is unpredictable and different with most everyone. Whatever treatment path you choose, I believe it is important to get your body and mind as healthy as possible. It is time to " clean house", throw away bad habits, bad thoughts etc. Dealing with the anxiety it stirred up in me has been a process over the last 3 yr. Feel free to ask questions, share your frustrations and fears here. You will find a huge knowledge base and empathy with the members on this site.
I rang the wonderful BHF nurses on the helpline when first diagnosed and they were incredibly helpful, making me less fearful and helping me plan the next step when the initial treatment I was given (Bisoprolol), was not working for me.
Heath Unlocked AFA site has been inspirational and I would echo what others have said, that you should join that one too as it is specific to AF.
Best wishes

Just forget about it and get on with life.
Forgive me being simplistic
Take care

Good advice! Sometimes the simplist answers are the hardest to accept👍🏻
A nurse recommended a Fitbit or similar. I got a very cheap one and felt reassured. There are some with ecg ! If I was worrying I would look at my fit bit which told me what my heart was doing. So I sat down and rested then continued with my day. It helped me to workout that I could feel what was going on. Also take a moment before getting up, going up or down stairs, tap feet a few times to get heart going. This helped a lot. It also reassured my husband as well. I learned low heart rate was worse than high. Best investment x
You guys are ace. Thank you so much
