Hi  Dogloverxthree

I hope you’re well this morning and I’m sorry you’re feeling left out 😔.

It seems like it’s a case of continuously checking in throughout the day when you can. Unfortunately, this isn’t a platform like Facebook where every time someone comments on a thread which you’ve previously commented on, you will get a notification for.

It seems the only time someone is notified on this platform is when they have received a PM, been tagged in a comment, or receive the “daily digest” notifications in their email giving a summary of all recent/latest posts.

The best way is to stay logged in, so every time you want to check or contribute to the forum, you do not have to worry about logging in all the time.

I hope this helps. Others may have different ideas.

All the best.

Tos

thank you for replying, I’m afraid I don’t understand technology don’t know what it means by staying logged in or what daily digest means 🤪 I only see if i look at my normal mail box an then look at the moderators mail then see if there’s any new threads in there or like now as I’m writing to you an alert has just appeared at the top of screen fraid I’m getting old and stupid !!!!🙄

Simply put, if you just check the site throughout the day when you get the chance, you should see the latest updates and posts. You don’t mention whether you’re using a mobile device or a laptop/PC to use the site? I use my mobile. When I want to “refresh” the main HU page, I pull down the screen from the top and let go and it shows me the latest updates.

The other thing is to click on the icon which I have circled in the red, which also refreshes the page for you right at the bottom of your home-screen. If you’re using a laptop or PC, it will be at the top of your screen!

It can be tricky if we're not face to face, but will try this way... it might take a couple of replies.

When you get an email from health unlocked, there's a green logo with their name on it, like in this picture.

Click on the green logo.

This is where it takes you normally (or where it takes me)...

From here you can see if you have notifications or can start to scroll through the posts.

So what I do, is I click on that first email a few times throughout the day... I don't wait for another email to come in.

It's then just your luck if the site is currently active. A lot of us will miss out during the day if we're working or otherwise busy, so just catch up when we can...

Hello :-)

I can see that you have had some really good help and I hope you will be able to follow it

It can be confusing but once you get the hang of it then it is one platform even I manage to use so hopefully you will to because I do not like to hear you feel left out because no one wants you to feel that way

Try and keep having a go it does not matter if you make mistakes as long as you work it out eventually that is all that matters :-) x

Hi Dogloverxthree, I am replying to an earlier post you put on about Christmas breaks. There is a company called Daish's holidays who specialise in 5 day 4 night hotel breaks all over the country, all year round including Christmas. You can use their coaches to get there or self drive/go by train. They have several hotels in the South of England including two in Devon, one in Eastbourne and one in Newquay. The breaks cater for everyone, every age group including children, but from my experiences most of the patrons are 60 plus. Many are disabled people and the hotels provide wheelchair access etc. Single rooms are available for a small supplement. I have been on a few of these holidays. They are half board, providing Breakfast and evening meal plus evening entertainment. In my experience they put single ladies on tables with other single ladies and the same for the single men. To request a free brochure call 01202 638840. Best wishes.

thank you very much for replying to me, I would love to be able to do something like this but I am still slightly agrophobic. I now go out on my own but couldn’t bear to go on holiday alone, I would need to get to know someone and travel together, but all my aquaintences have family members to spend time with and I have no one, that’s why I would like to find a local friendship group with other people in the same boat but so far no luck, here’s hoping. But thank you for thinking of me🤗
