Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with AF and heart failure, I have also been told today that I have dialated cardiomyopathy, I am only 31 so this has come as a big shock. Has anyone else been in the same situation?

Hello.its a huge shock to find out you have a heart condition, for you and those close to you too. It takes time to get used to and understand what it means for you. Please don’t rely on Google for information because it can be alarming, inaccurate and outdated.

My husband has Dilated Cardiomyopathy too. We found Cardiomyopathy UK really useful. They have a website and can post you an information pack for free too if you ask. If you want to talk about your condition they have a helpline run by nurses who are really kind and helpful.

There are lots of people on this forum who will offer you kind words and support. There’s also an AF forum on Health Unlocked which may be worth looking at.
