Taking your own pulse is really easy and accurate once you've been shown how. Maybe look at a couple of YouTube videos on how to take your pulse before spending your money.

Just a thought.

A good thought! Having looked at some online and got more and more confused taking my own pulse sounds a good idea.

thanks.

I have a fitbit but have never found it to be accurate so always take my own pulse. Interesting, even when a nurse takes your blood pressure with a monitor that also does your heart rate, the nurse will still take your pulse manually & its the manual figure that goes on your records

Hi, You can purchase a PO 2 monitor - this will give your pulse rate and also the oxygen saturation’s to your fingers. It a fab little machine and costs between £15 to £20. These type of machines are also used by ICU as I have used them loads of times.

I have a fit bit watch which seems very good.

I use a Garmin Vivosport which works reliably and I have checked the accuracy versus a chest strap and a nurse's machine.
