PS. Even before beta blockers, my flutter issue seems to have been intermittent. I think it's only happened 2 or 3 times. If naturally or via beta blockers my heart is not in flutter mode, does this equate to negligible increased stroke risk or is my stroke risk increased anyway?

My heart flutters were caused by strong coffee. When I changed to de-caff. they subsided. However I am not medically trained so this is just personal experience
When I was first referred to cardio for flutters I was given a heart monitor to wear. Turned out that over a week I noticed 9 flutter events yet the monitor recorded many many more and that some nights I ran a marathon in my sleep.
I was put on beta blockers only as it was determined I was fit enough not to warrant anything else.
Roll forward a couple of years to 2017 and I had 2/3 TIA's before they were recognised and I was put on an anti-coagulant.
So indirectly I'm saying yes potentially you could be at risk.
