Well only you will know my friend. It would also appear that you have answered your own question - but if you have any doubts go see your doctor - and do NOT binge - you were close to death and the skill of the staff and doctors have given you a gift - what you do with that gift is up to you. I know what I have done and that is to follow all of the advice I was given and know I will not die from my stupidity. You have heard of the programme "Your life in their hands! - well that has changed to "Your life in Your hands"
I am so sorry to hear about your friend's husband and how you have been affected. I think it is easier to think yourself lucky than to have "dodged a bullet" and face things. We all having coping strategies, don't beat yourself up too much about your binge. Hope it gets easier. Take care x
I can understand how you feel, you’re still quite raw emotionally and exactly as you’ve said the first thought isn’t about ‘luck’ it’s another reminder of what could have happened. What’s done is done, your overindulgence was just that - drink plenty of water, dust yourself down and start today afresh. We all have choices to make going forwards, this is a blip that’s all - learning from it is a positive outcome. In terms of the impact it will do much more damage on you mentally dwelling on it and getting upset. One night only indulgence, be kind to yourself, be mindful of your chest pain but get some fresh air, acknowledge the sadness and then - onwards...
Hugs
I keep fit,eat healthy all week so every Saturday I binge on Indian food, booze and chocolate. Enjoy life. X
My mother- in- law loved chocolate and Dubonnet and she lived to 99! She did not like crisps but had to have them because they were one of the foods she could eat with her hiatus hernia - she would have much preferred spinach!
We all stray from the path when the going gets tough but tomorrow is a new day and you can go back to your healthy eating plan. And, as Jimmyq says, don’t be hard on yourself. Ann
