There is a poster here who seems not to be whom he says, I would advise anyone not to take his/her advice as in most cases I have seen this is contrary to their own consultants or GP. By all means get a second opinion, just don't get it from an internet forum.

This place is for advice and personal experience, it's not for self proclaimed Pharmacists (sic) to offer up medical or medicinal advice.

Thank you

Totally agree! A few things have suggested he is not a qualified pharmacist just a potentially dangerous amateur akin to those idiots that pose as doctors.

It is also illegal to practise as a registered healthcare professional or claim you are one without being on the relevant professional register.

I agree. This is a v relevant topic here, that’s worried me from time to time, But we do have Registered Health Care professionals with heart problems, on this forum, who have a lot to offer, but, as you say, should not try to give professional advice here. You suggest they should restrict themselves to ‘personal advice and experience’.

I find it safer for me, to try to limit myself to issues around my own personal experience, and not stray into giving advice. It can be hard to separate personal advice from professional advice.

I know it’s not a v clear line!

Next to the "Reply" option, there is a "More" drop down where it looks like you can report an issue. I haven't come across this person myself, but perhaps you should report this if you think it is an issue?

Hi, it was reported yesterday and the person in question is no longer in the group. His/hers comments have also been removed.

I think the comments on this thread & another thread may have scared the person off. The main thing is he/she has gone!! I really don't understand why someone would do this sort of thing!!

Thanks everyone for flagging this - please do keep reporting anything of this nature that you spot. I think this community is brilliant at making sure any medical advice is always given with the context that it should be discussed with a GP or healthcare professional. I think even the word 'advice' is a tricky one as this community is here for support rather than clinical advice...as Kristin1812 has said, it's not always easy to draw the line but I think everyone is doing a fantastic job. Thank you!

Yes thanks for bringing it up. I had a "DrSam" that started following me, which I wasn't happy about. He's now gone thanks to whoever.👍

Yes, it is very unpleasant when you get the equivalent of stalking on the web. I have had it twice; once on another medical forum and on a professional forum. On the professional one you asked OT related questions and others answered, and vice-versa. One person kept popping up criticising my questions, answers and even my English. Sadly the moderators would not tackle it - sad geeks! I now believe there have been changes on recent months to quell the behaviour on the website but it may be to little to late.

I had to edit the end part of the post as an interrupt had to be serviced.
