Hello all. Finally managed to get logged in here although Ive been involved with BHF for a while .
Finally after 3 years of asking I was given my answer by a wonderful GP at my local centre . That question was what caused me to have to have a triple bypass. The answer was Diclofenac .
I then asked that if the 3 arteries/vessels that were affected were bypassed surely all my arteries would have been affected to which I was told Yes but " we are managing it" .
I guess the question I want to ask is that obviously my bypass has been done with damaged arteries > does that mean in a short time I will either need more Bypass surgery or just be dead ?
Reason I ask is a couple of folk supposedly in the know have both given me a rough expectancy based on various factors of 8 years - 3 years = 5 approx. Not what I was expecting but does anyone think they may be correct ?

Sorry - total rubbish! Where did you get those figures - Doc Google? A colleague's father had bypass surgery forty years ago and is fit for his age (nineties) and living independently. They would use the best blood vessels they can - typically veins from the leg. Whilst further bypasses can be done scar tissue and finding donor vessels make this more difficult.
The thing you have to do is make the lifestyle changes advised. A former neighbour (had moved) had stents and was back in hospital for further stents twice in the following three years. He continued to smoke and eat fry ups - a sort of slow suicide!
