Just been to northern general Sheffield for a 24 hr holter fitted does anyone know difference between 12 and a 3 lead cheers

A 3 lead only gives a quick ECG and on the trace will only see the electrical impulses from 3 aspects.
The 12 lead is far more accurate and gives a fuller picture of electrical activity in the heart from multiple aspects the multiple leads pick up the electrical activity from a different areas of the heart. They will display as multiple displays on the trace.
Therefore identify if there has been some sort of problem when the impulses are diverted go into a loop or in some cases blocked which will throw the heart out of sync.
In hospital u can also have a high frequency 12. lead ECG which is even more accurate.
I was but had these funny beats wot was close to setting my icd off in June been off work since June they are looking at ablation n a pacemaker next
That's another problem they might have to take my icd out and replace with another one that has a pacemaker with it grrr
