NHS Constitution ?

Why, when I suggest ways of Research by Volunteering , am I not accessing Treatment & Assistance to see if stem cells can be a preventative of other related condition as strict criteria applies .This appears to enable discrimination on grounds of age, genetics & history which is used against me & others , by those supposed to assist ? Nurses with no authority or reason are used to block the bullying & time wasting . Is this not Human rights abuse ?

Research is carried out by hospitals/universities etc depending on many things. Clinical need, politics and big pharma, I don’t think it’s possible for you to turn up offer to be a Lab rat and expect the established system to jump to. Lots of people shout human rights abuse etc. from what I read from your post nobody is beating you!

Electrocuting your private parts etc. perhaps if you had been in police custody in large parts of the world you would not use the claim so lightly.! Put simply not getting what you think your entitled too on demand is not an abuse.

A little blunt jobe, but I can see your point. I can also see skybluepinks point as well. I don't know how bad skyblue is at the moment, but it looks like he/she is willing to try anything !! Trials don't come without risk and maybe he/she is at the stage where they are willing to try anything. just a thought.

My personal experience of health care in the UK post heart attack has not involved any call centre. A cardiologist and a variety of excellent nurses and technicians. Some waiting but not much and if compare my treatment to European guidelines it’s been right on the mark.

So from my personal experience the NHS gets a gold star.

The team who look after me are dedicated hardworking healthcare professionals. I don’t think my experience is isolated from reading this forum. I am however aware people in other areas have a different experience.

If you couldn't get treatment because of neglected underlying conditions & disabilities would you just sit back & do nothing ?As a daughter of a pharmacist one of first on penicillin & pill I don't think so ?That is why still here urgent action.

I was with a charity for over 10 years because of inappropriate access & assistance even classic heart failure were symptons ignored even after the heart attackbecause of people with this mean nasty attitude . Allowing call centres to decide on remits & criteria . Intelligence & reason seems to have gone out of the window !

The NHS Constitution only applies to care given by the NHS clinical research is over seen by many other bodies.

nihr.ac.uk/

The Constitution states that every patient has the right to be treated with respect and dignity and in accordance to their human rights.

We of course own our dignity and it is for us to say whether it has been respected. Unfortunately the NHS is well known for not responding to complaints with candour even though this is a requirement of the Constitution.

The process of complaining can be very stressful especially if you end up taking your complaint to the Parliamentary Health Ombudsmen were 40% of complaints are upheld.

They regard you officially as a nuisance with the law complying with call centres with no discretion.Surely illegal. In my case even Royal Courts of Justice did not set up Independent Review deliberately ignoring papers prepared by Independent expert witness[ 1st in human rights- German] who then gave up in desperation.

As Margaret Mead said

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

Just a little off topic, but relevant. My heart would be no good for transplant, it could even be worse than a potential recipients LOL but not at possible transplant patient !!!! I did offer it for research ( When I'm Gone ) and was told it would be excellent for Research, so that's on my list of things to get around to.

I believe it should be research on the job too to stay alive. My great aunt donated her skeleton to Cambridge where she lived trouble is NHS/structure too male orientated especially AS NOW when the admin left with AI no consent or respect for qualifications & history re urology specialists & gynae ones [ age limits worthless if not working [ organised forms not overseen to enable] miscarriages of justice via Treasury . I find it offensive to only access research after you have gone although fine if you want .Do same humans with multi conditions who can’t access help now eg the single solo with multi conditions & disabilities access it after proviso in will ?
