Hello, I am new to this group and I am looking for fellow sufferers of this condition.

I was diagnosed August 2010 and have had more episodes as the years passed.

My cardiologist put me on Amioderone 200mg and 2.5 Bisoperol nearly two years ago which gave me 20 months free from AF. However this June it came back good style and I have had an episode each month upto this weekend.

My cardiologist has mentioned a pacemaker because the usual procedures for AF are not suitable for me but my appointment with him isn’t until November this year. I am due to have an echocardiogram in October so I guess he may make the decision then after the results. Has anybody got a pacemaker treating AF? I am getting desperate for a fix, it is having too much of an impact on my day to day life, I can’t plan anything for fear that I will have to cancel it!

I look forward to hearing your stories/solutions.

Hi Johnno,

AF is a very common condition and can be very distressing for some people. You will find many fellow sufferers and a lot of help and support on the AF Association forum on HealthUnlocked. The AF Association also publish many factsheets that will help you to better understand your condition.

Cheers,

Ian
