Hi Carolsews,

I recently had an Aortic Valve Replacement (May 22nd this year) as a result of being diagnosed with Bicuspid of the Aortic Valve - I also have Ulcerative colitis. I did have a few problems post op including a flare up of my UC which is still ongoing - I am taking steroid enemas trying to avoid oral steroids - the UC has I believe has slowed down my recovery from the operation.

I had a flare about a month after MI then continued issues with acid reflux from meds. It is now 9 month later and I am beginning to feel better. I had suspected the UC was slowing things down . It has been impossible to find any one who understands both sides of this
