Making noise

Hi all. I feel a little confused. My mother has diagnosed CHF over 6 months ago, although her symptoms have gone on a lot longer. She is making noises when she is breathing. It's not a wheeze it is a noise whereas she has to be using her vocal chords. I'm convinced it's a bad habit she can't lose yet she says it helps her breath. I have a serious lung condition and don't feel the need to make that noise when I breath......although I could if I wanted to.

I'm curious as to any other sufferers who need to use this noise for help in breathing or is it another symptom?

Thanks

C.x

I have a weird speech sound a bit like a bark wen I go out of breath. My dog thinks it’s funny cos I can bark like him and it probably helps me breath. I’ve onli noticed a little bit better breathing after teasing the dog pretending I’m barking. I kno I get croup even as an adult.
