Hi there, have you been to a cardio rehab class yet? I would say yes to the swimming but take it easy to begin with, exercise is good for you, especially aerobic

You sound as if you are well in the way, speak to your rehab nurses and as Fred says be careful of the water temp

Hi I had similar questions but the nurses at my rehab class would not let me swim until I had completed rehab and moved onto level 4 fitness program at the gym. Something to do with the warm (!) water dilating the arteries I think.

I would check with BHF nurses here as they will know for sure

Cardio rehab nurse also told me not to start swimming yet she said it was because you don't realise how hard your working in water so it's easy to do to much I would ask when you next go as your near the end of rehab
