Hi this is my second post after being diagnosed with left side heart block , they put me on penrindopril 2 mg but have been back to the gp this morning because I've developed a cough and a sensation of congestion in my throat he know has changed me candesartan 8 mg which I'm fine with however reading the information on it it states not to drink with it as it can make you light headed . I'm not a big drinker but like a couple if I have a party /wedding etc , any feedback would be great thanks .

I take 32mg candesartan and generally have a glass of wine with supper -it has never been a problem for me. My tablet information says 'discuss with your doctor before drinking alcohol. Alcohol may make you feel faint or dizzy'. Basically if any blood pressure drug - candesartan or ramipril - drops your blood pressure a lot you may feel faint, and alcohol can intensify this. Try a glass at home and see how you feel , and make sure at a party that you are hydrated (with water!) and have something to eat. Moderation is always good!

Im on 16mg and l take it between 10 and 11pm with some others so as my night tablets are at those times (but pm🤣😂) that means that if l want a beer or a wine im having it half way between doeses.

very accasionally l have a night off the pills and go out for a meal wine and beer but not often. l may go a few weeks with out a drink but they way l do it makes me feel incontrol of when l want one! silly but it helps me

Thanks so much for your reply , I ll have to do a trial run and see how I feel .

I only take 8mg Candersatan, and after a long weekend in the garden normally have a couple of glasses of cider or wine . Never affetced me, but then we're all different.

Try it and see how you feel

We had a big family party last week. A few days before, a Pharmacist suggested that I could take all my meds earlier in the day, at least a couple of hours before the party and then only have a very few drinks.

It was a good idea. I did the first bit but then I got bladdered at the party. I am still alive though.
