Hey Just a quick one, can heart palpitations/ ectopic beats make you feel a little breathless/short of breath, if you have a few in a row? Is that normal?😌

Hi Hayley

These are all symptoms that are likely to be related (but note that I’m not medically qualified).

Have you seen your GP and had a diagnosis already? If not, I would suggest that you get an appointment for a check-over.

Hiya ooh ok and yes iv has all the hospital tests and have currently been diagnosed with inappropriate sinus tachycardia, as I get a rapid heart rate at rest but they couldn’t find anything wrong :)

I suffer from palpitations/ectopic beats and they certainly make me feel light headed and disrupt my breathing pattern - not sure if this is the condition or anxiety. They can be extremely scary and affect your day to day life. Hate em!

Being unsure whether the symptoms are due to the condition, anxiety or prescription medications is a common problem, I think.

I had palpitations which made me breathless and lightheaded...from my initial ECG I was referred to have 48hour monitor fitted (6week wait) but then following the results of the monitor I was seen by a cardiologist and had a pacemaker fitted all within a month.

Make Me feel like I missed a breath can feel very scary sometimes as they come so randomly cutting back caffeine helped mine loads and never have a energy drink

Yes when I get the ectopics I feel breathless sometimes even whilst lying down or watching TV. At the start I was concerned but now I have sort of come to live with them. In my case the palpitations were a lot worse almost to the point you felt you were going to pass out. Underwent various tests as they were more concerned about the structure of my heart more so than how it functioned. If you are concerned make an appointment with your GP and explain how you feel to put your own mind at ease

Never noticed palpitations and shortness of breath together but probably can.

Hi Hayleywayley :) As others have mentioned, if you're experiencing palpitations please do get it checked out with your GP. You can read more about the symptoms here: bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo... Hope this helps.
