The job may be a bit heavy initially - you need to ask your GP who has all the clinical details. Is there any option if office based work in the short term. Part-time for a month or two would be the best option IMHO.
I went to the occupational health they advise me and company least 3 months light duties and short hours also not lift anything more than 2 kg but I am still
Waiting my department responds
I am working housing associations, thing is doctors not give any opinion saying supt to me how I feel to return work so I am confusing. If I work office that's fine but working as a plumber all day dealing with heavy jobs I am concerned.
If you feel up to it (and only you truly know) the proposed OH sounds good to me. Maybe HR need to chase your department. Ten years ago I ended up feeling bullied and that is not pleasant.
Do you feel up to the job? I suspect not since you're asking. Are you under any pressure to return? (From your employer or are you self-employed). Speak to your GP. If you are employed then he may suggest a phased return. You should also discuss with your employer whether you can do less physically-demanding jobs until you have recovered fully. If self-employed, the same applies, really. Pace yourself and 'listen to your body'. Don't try and take on too much too soon or you'll find it takes its toll on you again anyway.
Hey, I fit CCTV etc, I’ve had 2 stents and still don’t feel like I’m ok to do heavy stuff 8 or 9 weeks on. I’m back at work but not doing much. I couldn’t afford to stay off work any longer unfortunately.
I started physio now 6 weeks I am doing OK except I am taking heavy med. BISOPROLOL and statin which is statin 80 mg and making me tired I am doing exercise but I can't lift anything more than 2 kg given advise from occupational health so I did ask light duties and still waiting reply my company. I been told should 6 months off the work but only 3 months gone now. So just confusing
I think it is anywhere from 6 weeks (part-time unstressful desk work) to a year for heavy physical work. In some cases people may not be able to return to their original work.
