Had an MI in January and a stent fitted. Have problems now obtaining and keeping an erection. Was considering Viagra but wondered if it would react with my medication.

You need to speak with your GP. At one stage last year I was put on Adizem-SR but had serious side effects. When I read the leaflet to see if it was the cause (it was) it mentioned Viagra and said there could be a serious drop in BP, with potentially shortness of breath and other issues. Your GP knows what drugs you are on and if there is an issue should be able to offer alternative medications.

Hi

I too have suufered sadly the cardiologist refused GP permision to prescribe little blue pills until 6 months have passed. Luckily I have a very loving and understanding wife.

My 6 months is up and I shall be talking to GP this week. Will let you know how I get on (discreetly of course)

Viagra lowers BP quickly and if you are on any one if x medications it can be dangerous to deadly. And as has been said, several heart medications can cause this side effect HOWEVER it happened to me once and both my gp and cardiologist took immediate action which was to change the medication which is far more sensible. They never said it was choose sex or heart issues, they took it seriously.

Can you explain what you mean by "any one if x medications" ? Thanks

Typo - any one of a number of medications can cause erection issues - as both heart and tackle involve smooth muscle that medications seek to alter... Just look up side effects for your medications. Viagra is sort of a strong short term smooth muscle relaxant - relax heart - Lowww blood pressure and possibly nasty results.
