Hi,
I spoke to my local pharmacist for advice. In my case I am on life long warfarin which means I need to take multi vitamins without Vitamin k. I have found the vitamins helpful in my recovery from major illness and need to avoid further illness.
Best wishes
Mary
My advice would be speak to your GP/Pharmacist before starting on am vitamin regime. Hope you can get some advice
YOu could always contact the bHF nurse as they offer great advice
As others have said always run it past a professional in case there are any contra-indications.
We found a high quality multivitamin was of great benefit to my late mother. Although she ate a balanced diet the effects of Parkinsons on the digestive system appeared to affect absorption of all nutrients which is why we added a multivitamin.
I am a believer in 1000mg SR Vitamin C as there is evidence that it prevents irritation of the blood vessels that can lead to fatty deposits and plaque build up. Scurvy is a disease of the blood vessels and Vitamin C (as lime juice) helped prevent this on long vovages. Hence, the sailors were called 'limeys'.
Hi, yes, best to chat to your GP or pharmacist about the most suitable type of vitamin supplement to take. In the mean time eating a healthy diet will help, with plentiful fruit and vegetables. Best wishes, June
I found Honey to relieve sniffles and congestion, as above check that this will be ok with your meds.
