By i am 71years old and had open heart surgery 11years ago. U have put on weight and feel breathless at times. Would love to go to a group where you can talk about how you feel. I am frightened of dying and worry about it.

The BHF does have Heart Support groups across the country where you can meet others living with heart conditions. You can search for a group local to you on our website: bhf.org.uk/heart-health/how...

If you're unable to find one, please do get in touch with our heart helpline and our nurses will be happy to chat and can give you some further information and support. Call 0300 330 3311. Phone lines are open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Hi underhill3. Talking with people who have experienced your health problems can be very illuminating and helpful. Have you spoken about your condition with your GP? He/she has access to your full medical history and can offer explanations and advice.
