Angina

A week ago I was in the emergency room because I thought I was having a heart attack (serve pain and radiating to my arm and jaw). They told me I hadn’t had a heart attack and I went home. I talked to a cardiologist and he put me on raxena, nitrates and a nitrate patch. I’m still having some chest pains (this the nitrate patch). Did anyone have chest pains after an angina attack? I’ve had X-rays, ekg, and ct scans done. I’m new to having angina although I’ve had mild chest pains for the last two years on and off. Thanks for any comments!

Chest pain and angina tend to go hand in hand. My angina pain was all right side until I started using nitrates - then I got left sided pain with a vengeance (I stopped taking nitrates). Until I was hospitalised pre-op, I was on statins and bisoprolol and I had a gtn spray. My angina pain was a lot less on the medication than it was prior to that. Post triple CABG I’m on bisoprolol Ramipril aspirin and statin. And I’m angina free.
