"Glasgow is to become the first city in the UK to make CPR training mandatory in all its secondary schools...

Every pupil in the city...will now leave school with cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills after the council agreed to embed the life-saving training in the curriculum.

While some schools are already teaching CPR to pupils, making the lessons compulsory will ensure every pupil benefits, building a legacy of around 4,500 potential lifesavers a year."

Amazing! Let's hope lots more cities follow suit :)

Woooooo! Awesome news!! My boyf learned CPR in the cadets while we was at school. He used it over 10 years later to save my life when I had a cardiac arrest. I wish this was mandatory everywhere

Great news - I’m going to contact my daughter’s school and try and get them to do it too!!! (Maybe because I’m a Glaswegian too!!!!)

Brilliant! It needs to be adopted by all schools in the UK, wishful thinking perhaps, but it is so important.

With our city being the heart disease capital of Europe it's about time. Sadly, Glasgow is one of the worst cities for this type of illness.
