Constant chest pain that I had before the stent and same after stent

But had a bad one this morning

I feel this is angina

Bloods just came back normal

Enzymes test so not having heart attack. ..Thank God

But I pretty much knew they would

I keep shouting from roof top it's angina....but know one listens. Yet zena x

Good that it’s not heart attack. Frustrating though. Post stenting I had pains which they thought was an inflammatory response to the procedure. So that also maybe something to rule out. Hopefully if they sort out your medication the angina will settle. But if stents have cleared the blockages maybe it’s a residual thing. Do take care Rob. Keep posting and look after yourself. Zena x

Sorry I'm thick zena haha but what do you mean residual?

Yes had stent but was getting angina at rest and exercise so I classed it as unstable..

It seems to have all come back again and is so frustrating

Im even looking at possibility ofor micro vascular angina...that many consultants want to dismiss sadly.

I have a 30%block in the proximal segment and the 90/100% blockage was above that.

They didn't stent the 30% as they don't stent anything under 70% apparently because the blood flow will be OK.

My wonder is maybe? Just maybe that 30%narrowing is enough to cause these symptoms? ?

Not thick. Residual just means leftover or remaining. So I just meant perhaps it’s leftover pain from the procedure. 30% is a smallish narrowing. It may go into spasm hopefully medication to widen the vessels will help. But as you say it maybe micro vascular angina. Have the discussion with the docs and do the research so you can ask lots of questions. Unfortunately heart disease is very frustrating! Focus on getting better. Get to rehab and slow but steady will help. Take care. Zena x

When I had my angioplasty I heard them say I was having spasms and they gave me alot of GTN by my cath

He noted on my notes that it was a very tricky procedure because of where the block was..

I felt like he was trying different size wires to get to it..

And he has noted that any further problems that I should be either femoral or left arm..apparently it was awkward access into the assending aorta from the right radial?

If that makes sense zena?x

Yes makes sense. Ask to see the cardiologist again whilst you’re in A&E. Hope it gets sorted Rob. Zx

The main doctor here is talking to me as if I'm an idiot.

I spoke clearly and explained what I believed

He has now said I have a right for a second opinion

So I said yes I want one.

Unbelievable

I am...I'm now sitting in ward and will be seen at 7pm tonight by a cardiologist after he has finished clinic.

So here I am..lots of tea and notebook at hand..haha..

I am sure he will try and blind me with science and not let me speak...but I will try to ask questions

I know this cardiologist and he is quick to say hes bit and walk away

We shall see..

Then journey home on the bus zena x

We can all be wrong in the field of our own expertise at times so I'm just looking at other avenues and not questioning them in person

The relationship with the doctors is about a partnership. They have expertise in the anatomy and physiology of the heart. We have the expertise of the lived experience. Both are equally valid and both equally important. In order for us to optimise our health outcomes it is vital that we question. He knows this. Do make sure you write down all the questions that you want to ask. Don’t let him leave until you ask them all!! I hope the bus isn’t too tiring for you. Take care Zx

Why are they happy to discharge you to go home on the bus?

Because all my bloods are OK and I'm up on my feet now and I was brought in by ambulance so I don'thave my car so got no choice unfortunately Shopman

Understood but will you be on your own or with company? Have to confess I've never been allowed to do this, have to be picked up from the Ward by a competent adult.

I know

But I have nobody to collect me this evening

Partner has kids so it's all I can do..

Im very intrested in the flavoured gt spray though

I'm still surprised they will let you do it though.

The peppermint flavoured GTN is true, although asking for other flavours may be a little bit of wishful thinking - I prefer spearmint. I have GTN sprays in various places in case I have misplaced the one I carry - the car, work venues as I am often in different places. All GTNs I have had until now have always been 400 doses but this new one is only 180, no doubt a cost cutting exercise.
