I have Persistant AF and I am taking medicines to reduce my heart rate. It appears to me from the pamphlets with the tablets, that they are not suitable for people with Asthma or Lung conditions. I have lung scarring from a previous Pneumonia which causes me to breath less freely and create a lot of mucus, which seems to be made worse by the AF treatment.
Is there any other treatment recommended for patients with Asthma or problems such as mine.

You really need to take this up with your GP. It is true that some cardiac drugs are contraindicated in patients with asthma/COPD etc., but its not always quite so black and white. The patient information leaflet has to contain every possible side effect/contraindication irrespective of how likely the side effects might be (they give the worst case scenario). Its often a bit of a balancing act to get the meds right given the symptoms. If you are concerned by what you have been prescribed, take it up with your GP.
