If you do not mind me asking how old are you and how many shifts do you work each week?

That is a 45 hour week which is on the long side. In my teens I had two short term labouring jobs where I considerably more hours but then the hours above 40/44 were at overtime rates which varied between 1.5 – 3,0 times hourly rate. I was also far fitter then! In fact, I took a considerable pay cut when I started a career! You do not say how old you are but I think wither a 4 day week or a 7.5 hour day would be more suitable. After all you should not be sacrificing your health. In all honesty I think you also need a 15 minute tea break morning and afternoon. Sadly, working conditions have changed over the years – whilst there is more attention to Heath and Safety there is less regards for the employee’s wellbeing. I blame the minimum wage, zero hour contracts and former party leaders from both sides of the house for this!

Work have just agreed that I can cut my hours down to 35 a week so I’ll be finishing at 3.30 now instead of 5.30 that makes a big difference
