This is my first post . My husband has a chronic lung disease , Aspergillosis and Emphysema . His chest consultant sent him for a heart ultrasound which revealed slight impairment to the left side of the heart , the heart is under strain due to the lung conditions , this has resulted in raised sided pressure and a leaky tricuspid valve . There is no treatment given , we have consulted , due to the lung diseases .
Anyone had anything similar occur ?
Thank you

A few questions I am afraid. Does your husband see his lung and heart consultants at the same hospital or NHS Trust? If not it may be worth asking for a referral to a specialist hospital in both areas such as Royal Brompton for a second opinion. The next one is his age? Depending on any other health issue and age he could potentially be considered for a combined heart lung/transplant. Do keep us updated.
Thank you for your reply, he sees the chest consultant regularly , who has been in consultation with the specialist hospital in Manchester . He was going to be seen there , but he was emergency into hospital with community pneumonia in October last year and missed the appt . They have decided he doesn’t need to be seen there now as the Itraconazole is keeping the Aspergillosis under control . The heart conditions have been discovered in the last week or so . My husband is very underweight and in his late 60’s , so they won’t consider any transplants . He has quite s high toxic level in his liver , but needs the Itraconazole . It’s all now keeping that balance , between the lungs to the heart to the liver
