Heart Failure & Stress

Update after finally seeing my cardiologist I have been put on aspirin 75mg till I have an angiogram.

Bypassing the stress test due to bad family history of heart problems.

Also being put on bisoprolol 1.25mg starting next week. My request to delay as have lots of plans this week and don't want possible side effects to disrupt. I feel absolutely fine on no meds at moment and he was happy with this scenario.

He also suggested a second Echo after arteries checked to see if heart muscle has improved any. He suspects that stress may have caused all my issues! Given the level of stress I have been living with over the last few years I hope he is correct. This could mean my heart repairng itself to some degree.

Some questions were answered, some not, some will be after more tests but future not looking as bleak as it did.

Thanks to all here for being there. x

That sounds like some progress was made. Hope the angiogram and second echo give you some peace of mind and an even clearer picture of the problem/solution. Good luck :)

I was on 1.25mg bisoprolol ahead of my op. It enabled to play full rounds of golf without pain and dizziness just a few days before I was admitted. It’s the lowest dose you can have and it shouldn’t stop you doing anything ‘normal’. So no running marathons and the like but most other things should be fine.

Lol The image of me attempting a marathon! 😂 I could barely manage 5K two years ago... breathlessness put an end to even that. I thought I was just unfit... but had signed up for a couple this year before finding out about heart issues. Fingers crossed I will manage.
