Hi Winnie.

My partner had an S-ICD implanted in January following a sudden cardiac arrest. We are now 4 months on and slowly he has started to improve. The wounds heal in a couple of weeks and it does take time for the implant area to settle. I would say after about 3 months he was feeling more confident and started to return to 'normal'. Everyone is different and I guess it depends on so may factors, including how you feel mentally as well as physically. We found talking together to our GP helped. It's important you have someone to talk to either a family member or friend. Also if your local service runs a support group try to go to the first meeting you can and meet up with others who have an ICD or S-ICD implant.

Good luck and drop us a message if you need to ask anything.

Regards Ron.

Winnie.

I think feeling tired comes as part of the surgery. I am sure given a few weeks you will be back to your normal activities. You didn't say why you had an S-ICD implanted and the tiredness may be something to talk to your GP about.
