I got mine November last year without much warning or time to think. I had anxiety at first and have needed a few tweaks but the last month have started to feel more like my old self. I do not think you can ever forget about it as you have to be aware of your surroundings all the time. I have just been on my second holiday and the airport was a breeze it is all new to us but they are so used to it. The only thing I would suggest is do not be afraid to tell your pacing clinic if you do not feel right you know your own body. Most of all remember it is your best friend and you are much better with it than without x

Hi...my 76 year old dad had one fitted last November and very soon felt much better. I realise it's not the same for everyone, but it has really helped him. I have just been diagnosed with a heart problem and am very worried, but there's a lot of support out there, so don't be afraid to ask for help. Take care 💓

Hi I had mine 7 years ago. Very traumatic at the time as I was taken into coronary care, had external pads fitted initially which gave a kick like a mule, then an emergency extrnal pacemaker fitted through the side of my neck and after another 3 days a proper pacemaker. Once that was fitted I've never looked back and the only hassle it causes is not going through security gates but that is easily managed.

I’ve had one since a kid but mine is a small pacemaker fitted in my heart so I can’t see any difference. In my 20 wen I became obsessed wiv my iPhone I freaked it could damage my heart but checked this with my cardiologist and it doesn’t so I’m still obsessed with my fone and kno it’s safe and never had issues at airports but one airline paniced and made me go have a full body scan instead of going thru the airport scanners and I freaked for a sec but it was ok I never had issues with earphones but my stepdad has a pacemaker as well and he uses earphones and travels a lot wiv work so I grew up knowing music and airports where safe. I got into smart phones before him and he’s not obsessed so onli thing I needed to check was that.
