I’ve got an Apple Watch that measures heart rate my heart rate has been up and down since I’ve started the new medication going from 45bpm to 90 but woke up today with alerts from my watch saying I had resting rate of 120. It took it every 10 mins for an hour. I go and see cardiologist on the 8th not sure if I should go to gp before. I feel okish in myself x

Hi lyngal

As much as the watch doesn't provide a truly accurate reading as it measures blood flow through the wrist, in this instance I would suggest at least a gp visit. It's probably nothing to worry about but best to be on the safe side

Wrist based devices are getting better but they are no substitute for actual pulse measurement. Have you attempted to compare what your watch tells you and a timed pulse measurement done the old fashioned way?

A resting heart rate of 120 bpm sounds a bit on the high side so if you are concerned, go see your GP. I'd just verify your watch first, just to be sure.
