hi all has any one, has or about to have a pulmonary valve replacement?
My husband is due to have one in the next few months, he's about to have an ablation next month. We have noticed that not many people seem to have this.
Just looking for your experiences and any advice as we are both really worried.
Thanks..

I’ve had a valve replacement but confused which one as I’ve heard many names for that valve. I have German doctors so they use different namesto the English doctors. I found the op wasn’t as hard as I thought it be and my valve is still opening up 4 months later but I had a stroke as a young kid so I’ve been told it could take longer to open up. I’m feeling out of breath and getting pains when my valve decides it wants to open up so on pain meds. I’m going out tho but unusually tired.
Hi sutaylormills , here's some info from the BHF on what to expect with ablation: bhf.org.uk/heart-health/tre... I'm sure there will be others who have personal experience with the treatment too.
You can also give our heart helpline a call if you're worried and would like to chat to someone at any point: bhf.org.uk/heart-health/how...
Hope everything goes well over the next few months, keep us posted
I guess I am lucky as the Bisoprsol seems for the most part to be working for my AF.
From what I can gather from others though ablation seems to work really well.
Have a chat with your Gp. Bring it to their attention that evan though you have investigated and researched as much as you can to what both procedures involve.
The sycalogical side effects of this trauma is what is really worrying you and your husband. Causing you both so much anxiety.
Bless them, the NHS Gps and nurses don't get too much time to focus on our emotional issues concerning our medical procedures.
They do care and are generally concerned for our wellbeing. But because of their limited time with us they can sometimes come across as matter a fact, sounding unconcerned.
Sometimes we just have to give them a little nuge as they are so busy and focused on the practicals. Just to let them know as well as the obvious information. We also need the emotional support too.
Usually most Gps are very understanding and supportive. If you make it look and sound like you are coping, then their business will posibly mean them passing you by.
The practice nurse is also great support. The BHF nurses and advisers on this forum are very supportive and helpful. And of course our friends on this forum are a must. Kind friendly with loads of personal exspireance.
Also look up the links given above as the information is very good.
Your husband is on the radar now, so rest a sure he is in very good hands.
