Hi, thinking of going back to running. Had a heart attack 8 mths ago, had 2 stents put in. I am scared of the cold weather and how it can affect the body etc. Anyone else run in the cold weather that can give any advice?

Hi Nicbrad

I am so pleased to see another runner here. Like yourself I also had 2 stents put in probably same time as you. Post stenting I was informed that I had suffered a heart attack, I don’t have any recollection of that. Anyway, to answer your question, I have been running in cold weather and encountered no issue, sometime I feel that I am lacking pace but it may not be due to the cold weather.

If you fancy reading about my progress, take a look at my post, I have documented everything in detail.

Trust above helps.

Happy running.

I don't run but I do a lot of walking. The cold weather will constrict both your lungs and your veins. This will make your heart work harder and beat faster than normal. If you can have something over your nose and mouth to warm the air you breathe.

Good luck

Mark
