Angina or anxiety

I have server health anxiety. I’m constantly worried I have a heart condition. I have had 5 ekgs this year, wore a event monitor and had a echo done. All came back normal but my anxiety hasn’t stopped. I feel like they are missing something. I know stress can made the body do crazy things but I get chest discomfort about once to twice a day (some days none) it’s not a pain just like an annoying presences that is there and won’t go away in the upper left area of my breast and sometimes in my sternum. I google and Angina came up now I’m worried I have that. My question to anyone that has angina would taking a Xanax stop or help the discomfort go away( bc it does for me) that’s why my heart dr thinks it’s stress and won’t do a stress test

Hi, if after having so many tests they can't find anything wrong with your heart it's likely not to be your heart but your anxiety. You really shouldn't use google as your doctor as it can probably make any symptom you have into sonething major. I wouls look to your gp and see them to discuss your anxiety and see what other treatments are available for you.

Hopefully you get some relief to your issues soon

Hiya,

listen it does sound like anxiety.

Has you GP looked at other areas though.

You know thyroid, reflux, vitamin D, etc.

There is ways you can sort out your anxiety.

1Try to work out what you was doing at the time of the attack: What you have recently eaten. Was you thinking about anything in poticula, did it cause you stress? Are you worrying about anything? Have you suffered any traumas? Could be recently or something from the past. Was you over eccertin yourself at the time?

2 you could try councelling to see if they can sus out what is bothering you.

3 Is your diet good, are you sleeping corectly?

4:Go and have a chat with you Gp. Book a 20 minute appointment. Ask them to listen to your concerns. Tell them you are convinced you have a heart issue Evan though the tests have come back negative.

Say to your Gp, ok, so if you are saying it isn't my heart. Then you need to do further investigations to find out what it is then.

If he or she says we still think it is anxiety. Then tell them, well until you put it in writing and you sort me out some councelling. I am going to keep coming back because I am not convinced.

I do think it will be anxiety, but they need to support you to help you over come it.

In the mean time, if you get an attack.

1 Lay or sit yourself down if poss and close your eyes, then elevate your legs

2 concentrate on your breathing, really think about it and how it is controlled or not at that moment in time. Take a nice deep breathe

3 count to ten really slowly, while still concentrating on your breathing.

4 If you are still anxious count again, but much slower this time.

5 Only get up again when you feel completely calm. But get up slow, don't rush anything

6 If you are at home, maybe some calming music would help.

You should try this exercise once or twice a day, it could help you from getting anxious all together

Best wishes, J ☺

Thank you so much for your response. I do have reflux problems they did a endoscopy and said everything looked good. But I had my gallbladder removed 5 years ago so I may have a slight gerds.

I am in counseling for my anxiety which is helping. But you make a good point when I do have this discomfort I should write down or think about what happened before the discomfort. With 2 kids under 2 it’s hard to relax and get a quiet moment. And I am just starting to exercise and get my diet cleaned up
